I think its the hieght of arragonce to believe that out of the 1,000,000+ people that have played GW over the last 28+months you can safely claim to be the inventor of any build or strategy.

You may have been the first to post it on Guru or use it in pvp, but that certainly does not mean you invented it.

I'm a player that has tested any and all builds, most so unconventional that people dismiss them without ever even equiping the skills, and I would still never claim to be the first to ever come up with them.

I posted the build in a thread over a year ago and was laughed off the board, now Little Thom runes it in the Norn Tournament.

It is interesting to me to see that heroes can run this very well but that warrior heroes can't seem to understand to use warrior's endurance until after they run out of energy or that protter heroes don't understand they can use prot spirit when combat start instead of after you take the big hits. I do wonder sometimes how that AI is set up.

I'm not sure about the warrior heroes, I think part of it has to do with their energy management AI. In reguards to PS, what are all the things that goes through you mind and you have to do to preprot?

Sigh...just to clarify, I've never claimed to have invented the Jagged Bones build. While I'm sure people have been using the skill Jagged Bones since NF was released, it was in 6v6 HA where Jagged Bones was used as an energy engine for a team of Necros. As far as I remember, [ftl] was the first to run it successfully. I adapted this idea to PvE, but I've always credited the original HA build (see my previous post), so I don't know why people think that I'd claim to be the inventor.

Yes, Ritualists ruined this game. Paragons too. Assassins too. Mesmer pretty much too. Necromancers too. So let's leave Warrior, Monk, Elementalist and MAYBE Ranger. Who needs more in pvp? [/irony]

Pre protting is key against things like level 28 ele bosses. I can make Tahlkora cast it on me and Jora for example but once they expire and I am in mid battle she doesn't recast it.
Generally she casts it on you after you get hit big, for like 200-400 damage...ofcourse a hit like that can kill me at once especially when there is dp. So yeah some pre protting is needed...I mean the whole point of protection is damage prevention.
But the AI doesn't get that, so a lot of protting can be too late and often is...

A couple of examples of bosses...Cyndr and Kormab. Without pre protting you are dead in less than a couple of seconds...sometimes a single shot.

There are a lot of things that go into preprotting and if you want the AI to do it well, all of them have to be programmed in. A lot of what goes into it is judgement calls and those are hard to program in.

I remember distinctly, that myself and a few friends ran it at the same time (started running it the same day) as [ftl], but I don't know who ran it first. But even so, it was a HA build primarily, so the idea that it was a PvE build....is wrong.

In my opinion I hope in guild wars 2 that their is NO BALANCING. They put skills in their for reasons. To synergize well with other skills and not work so well with others. Just because xx build can be very powerful it doesn't need to be balanced.

The main reasons theirs balances is because teams post the entire build and then everyone copies it. So then just play builds that can beat the previous build.

I hope guild wars 2 brings a game free of balancing and just lets people play the game as it's supposed to be. Come up with good build ideas that work great, not builds that work great for 2 months and then get nerfed so it can be "fair".

Agreed. It really was lacking that finesse.... I still vote they unplug the servers or let them overheat again. At least that makes sense and solves a lot of issues.

I believe reality is nodding in agreement. Expecting Izzy to rebalance the game, now that is not in agreement with reality.
